I've always liked this spot but they had closed for a while due to the pandemic. Well they are reopen now on their beautiful spacious patio! We went tonight and there were lots of empty tables and there was no wait. The AYCE was around $22/person with unlimited meats and veggies. It was soooo good. Really hit the spot! When I called before going, they said they open at 5:30 btw. Update (10/2/20) - we tried to go back last Friday around 6:30 pm, but it was closed. Not sure what's up but I'd definitely call before going!
We came here recently for lunch and enjoyed the AYCE menu for $20 per person. The meat selections are limited, but you still get to choose beef, lamb, and seafood, so it was fine. We only ordered one round of meat since we ordered a ton of sides and also had rice and veggies as well. Service was better than normal which is a welcome surprise. I like that we have access to the sauce bar, though not sure how sanitary it is with people being able to get whatever they want. Parking is free in the plaza lot and afterwards you can run errands if you need stuff from Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, or Bed Bath and Beyond.
I've been to a few locations and this is the first time where I was given 3 different menus! I was a little confused at first, but got the hang of it. So they have the a la carte menu, combo menu, and the AYCE menu. After looking thru it, no doubt you would do the AYCE menu! You get 3 rounds for about 1.5 hours. That's plenty of food and rounds for a good time. It was my first time, so she had a good time enjoying the food and the sauce bar. Note that some locations (northern cali) charges for sauce and no sauce bar. =/ Not sure how the franchise work, but just beware of that. Everything was great and we ordered a lot the first round because wanted a little bit of everything, so the next round you know what you want so you don't waste food. They do charge you if you have 8oz or more leftover AND you cannot take your leftovers home for the AYCE menu. I have ordered the pork belly and fatty beef...and it's really fatty lol. It doesn't sit well when you're just hotpotting it when a nice thick braised pork belly could be in a taiwanese sandwich. It doesn't do justice for fat going into my stomach like that, hehe. BUT it your call! I'll definitely come back again. BTW, the location is kind of hidden in a way. It's across from Nyjia Market.
We purchased a Groupon for a party of 4. It was our first time here. Located in the Rolling Hills Plaza off of PCH in Torrance. Large lot with ample parking. We were seated right away. Included in our meal was a choice of flavored black or green iced teas. I had the mango green tea; others in my party had the peach green tea; passion fruit green tea and passion fruit black tea. Then we were told the "mini bar" was included which consisted of a root vegetable (not sure what it's called); sesame balls; shrimp chips; sugared wonton chips; popcorn and a variety of dipping sauces (for the hot pot). Our meal consisted of the tomato soup base, 3 meats (Kobe; Angus, and fatty garlic); platter of vegetables; udon noodles; flavored peanuts; Asian pancakes; kimchi; fried bread; and lamb skewers. It was a generous portion of food and everything, with the exception of the fried bread, was very good! All in my party enjoyed the dinner here. In addition, the meal ended with a strawberry condensed milk shave ice dessert. Came home and immediately bought another Groupon so I can bring my mom here.
Open for patio dining. Decent AYCE (or order as you go) Taiwanese/Chinese hot pot in Torrance. Soup base was good (super hot if you order the spicy soup base), fresh veggies, noodles, and meats. If you love lamb, you'll love Happy Sheep. They also have beef and pork options as well. My friends and I got the AYCE option for $22 a person. Worth it if you're a hearty eater, tons of food. Service was also good, our waitress was super nice and attentive.
